Team 202,
Here’s what’s happening this week:
Reading & Writing –We are wrapping up this reading unit and getting ready to show what we’ve learned by writing about how a character makes a decision about money. We read about Alexander who wasn’t very good at saving money and the little girl in A Chair for my Mother, who was great at saving money. Students will write a narrative that includes :
-create a plot with a beginning, middle, end
-introduce the character and setting
-include at least 2 events
-use signal words to show the order of events
-include details that express the thoughts and feelings of the character
-write a sentence that wraps up the story.
Math - This week in math we are working so hard on the students’ growth goal. We are working on using PLAN, P is for creating a PICTURE, L is for LABEL, A is for ANSWER and N is for NUMBER sentence. The students have been working on this goal since the beginning of school and are progressing successfully. With each assessment, the numbers get a little bigger. The students have adjusted to this and are excellent. We are also working on wrapping up Unit 4 on measurement. On Friday, we will start Unit 5, which will introduce counting to 1000 and the value of money.
-Mrs. McGlohn.
Science – Soil is the top layer of the earth and is always being carried away – this is when wind, water, or ice move the soil to a different place in a process called – erosion.

Spirit Day – Friday, March 24th is our next dress up spirit day. Let’s get wild and dress up like our favorite jungle animal!!
