Here’s what’s happening this week:
Dress Warm – It is frigid outside! Please make sure your child comes to school dressed for this freezing weather.

Writing – We are learning how to write a paragraph that includes a topic sentence, three detail sentences, and a closing sentence.
Math - We are starting Unit 3 – Adding and Subtracting within 100 to solve one- and two-part word problems. We will continue to use CUBES and PLAN to solve story problems.
Social Studies – Our social studies lessons are moving into maps and map skills. Students will learn how to use a grid, cardinal directions, and how to use a map key.
Science – We are starting our second science unit – Pebbles, Sand, and Silt this week. Students will be conducting investigations to better understand the world around us including the formation of our physical environment.
