Team 202,
Here’s what’s happening this week:
Thank You Volunteers! – A huge THANK YOU to all our volunteers for joining us on our field trip to OMSI! We had a fantastic time, the weather was amazing, and the kids had a blast learning about science! Win! Win! Win!
PALS Movie Night – This Friday, our PALS group will be showing “Moana” in the gym. Bring your blankets and stuffies for another fun movie night! Doors open at 5:30.
The Garden Show – You may have heard that we are putting on a play! On June 6th we will have a daytime and evening performance of “The Garden Show.” Our class will be joining Mr. Melo’s class and Mrs. Waite’s multi-age class to present this musical! If you are interested in helping with costumes, sets, or practices please let me know ~ we would love your help!
Reading & Writing –In reading we are integrating science by reading about habitats. We will learn about different types of habitats, plants and animals. Students will be researching and writing about what they learn.
Math – This week in math we are using our paper clip chain of 1,000 as a number line to solve problems. We’re continuing our work with coins and now we’re learning about time, too!
Science – We are exploring habitats, biomes, ecosystems, and seed dispersal during science. We will be breaking into small groups to study the climate, plants, and animals that make each biome unique.
Spelling – Our Week 25 spelling words include final –ck pattern, and academic vocabulary. The test for these words will be on Friday, May 12. You can get extra practice by going to https://www.spellingcity.com/knorgard/.
Make-up Days – Here is the link to the revised calendar that the district has provided. Please note that some early release days have been changed to full days.
Plastic – Please send in any plastic bags or wrapping for our school-wide plastic drive!
Box Tops – Keep saving and sending in your box tops and labels for education. Our school wide class competition is over, however I will continue to collect them.
