Here’s what’s happening this week:
Sweets for your Sweetie – Please join us on February 14th from 8:00-9:00 am for Sweets for your Sweetie! Students accompanied by an adult will get a treat.
Assembly – Wednesday morning we will have an assembly from the Oregon Shadow Theater. Please join us from 9:30-10:15 for this inspiring show!
Wednesday – Please note that this Wednesday, 2/15 is a full day. There is no early release this week.
PALS Dance – Mark your calendars for our annual Lacamas Heights Dance on Friday, March 3rd. The theme is Superheroes!!!
Winter Book Fair – Our PALS Winter Book Fair starts this Thursday! We would LOVE more volunteers! If you can help out please sign up here.
Reading & Writing – Today we started a new book, Alexander Who Used to Be Rich Last Sunday. During this unit we will focus on the structure of a story, that describing a character’s actions, thoughts, and feelings enhances a story, and that people make decisions based on their needs and wants.
Math - In math, we continue to work on two-digit (leading to three-digit addition and subtraction) in the context of gifts (1) and parcels (10) story problems.
Junie B. Jones was having a birthday party. There were some gifts on the table. There were 4 gifts and 1 parcel hiding in the closet. There were a total of 30 gifts at the party. How many gifts were on the table?
Science – We are exploring the different particle sizes of river rocks by sifting them with different size screens.
Spelling – Our Week 15 spelling words include sight words, final blend -mp, and academic vocabulary. The test for these words will be on Friday, February 17th. You can get extra practice by going to https://www.spellingcity.com/knorgard/.
Valentine Boxes – Wow! We have an awesome collection of valentine boxes in our class! Thanks for all you do at home to support what we do at school! You are appreciated!!
Make-up Days – Here is the link to the revised calendar that the district has provided. Please note that some early release days have been changed to full days.

Plastic – Please send in any plastic bags or wrapping for our school-wide plastic drive!
Box Tops – Keep saving and sending in your box tops and labels for education. We are having a class competition during the month of February! Go Team 202!!!!!
