Team 202,
Here’s what’s happening this week:
Green Team – If you are on the green team: Please bring your t-shirt tomorrow. Thank you!
Reading & Writing –During this reading unit, starring Alexander Who Used to Be Rich Last Sunday, we will focus on the structure of a story, that describing a character’s actions, thoughts, and feelings enhances a story, and that people make decisions based on their needs and wants.
Math - In math, this week we are continuing our learning on measurement. On Friday, we had our unit checkpoint which means that we are about half way done with this unit. Monday, 03/13, we started comparing our inchworm ruler to our new type of ruler called a footworm ruler. Students have been working so hard to remember that there are 12 inches in a foot, 3 feet in a yard and 36 inches in a yard. We will continue this week with measuring. Please have your student measure things around the house for practice. In class time our learning target is about precision. Making sure that your student uses precision when measuring can ensure for great success. Keep Calm and Measure On. -Mrs. McGlohn.
Science – We have been learning about how wind and water can cause erosion.
Spelling – Our Week 19 spelling words include sight words, final blend -ch, and academic vocabulary. The test for these words will be on Friday, March 17th. You can get extra practice by going to https://www.spellingcity.com/knorgard/.
Make-up Days – Here is the link to the revised calendar that the district has provided. Please note that some early release days have been changed to full days.
Plastic – Please send in any plastic bags or wrapping for our school-wide plastic drive!
Box Tops – Keep saving and sending in your box tops and labels for education. Our school wide class competition is over, however I will continue to collect them.
